Hardcore Music Discovery
Hardcore took punk and made it faster, shorter and angrier. Bad Brains, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys — early-'80s American hardcore set the blueprint. Youth-crew (Youth of Today, Gorilla Biscuits), powerviolence, metalcore and beatdown all branched out. The scene's basement-show ethic still runs the genre. PUNKSTAR.ai surfaces the bands and shows.
